A ministry opportunity for our church - "ACT"
We have been in the process for awhile of forming a ministry we are calling "ACT". This acronym stands for A Caring Touch and our purpose is "to serve God by sharing the love and fellowship of the Church Family." We are basing this ministry on Acts 6 1-7 where the early Christian Church commissioned believers to minister to those in their congregation who were in need. If you read this scripture, you will note that they only selected seven (7) to fulfill this ministry; however, we are hoping to have many more than seven willing to help us.
In the very near future, we will have an insert in the bulletin with various ministries that we are trying to form and you will have an oppurtunity to let us know that you are willing to help. Some of these will be: taking and serving communion on Communion Sunday to those who are unable to attend church, sending cards and letters to those who are home-bound or have health concerns or joys, making friendly phone calls, compiling e-mail addresses and sending e-mails and many other vital functions of caring for our congregation. We have many exciting and ambitious plans for the future.
I hope you will pray for this important ministry that we are forming and that you will be willing to be a part of it.
